Orchid

Cel was given this Orchid by one of her co-workers. We've had them in the house before but, we can never get them to bloom. Last summer, she was given one and we started to notice ants all over the kitchen. We finally realized they were coming from the bottom of the orchid's flower pot.
So I photographed this beauty before it wilts or something else happens with it.

Just a thought... peonies need ants to pollinate and bloom. Maybe your orchid needed the same thing?

Beautiful photo, Steve. :)

nice flowers.
some people are really into these, but, i have never been very patient with plants. especially ones that want special light and all that jazz.

however, i have planted some flower seeds outside of flowers that i like that tend to come up for people like me. i even put some of our old rusted chicken wire over the planting bed to keep my cat out of it. she loves to use the loose dirt as a litter box. she makes a digging mess of it.

that reminds me...i should go out and water the dirt a bit. i sure hope i get some flowers.
