lacecap hydrangea

A close-up of my lacecap hydrangea.
This plant never ceases to amaze me.
In the evening the flowers glow.

The Traveling Vietnam Wall

This weekend I had the opportunity to visit the Traveling Vietnam Wall. I've been to Washington and seen the Monument there.
The feelings at both are the same.

People touch the wall, make rubbings of names,
hang flags and lean photos there.

If you get the chance....
 see it.

What else is there to do when you're stuck in
a monsoon in the car?

Dream Forest

Overexposed inferred.
I might have to add a texture screen or something.

Killdeer

While visiting the under-construction arboretum the Town of Babylon is building, I was introduced  to a mamma Killdeer tending her four eggs.  There were two nesting birds under blueberry bushes, this one was less afraid of us and let me get close. Jennifer, the town arborist,  and I were actually picking blueberries from this bush. The other mamma bird wouldn't let us get close at all. She jumped  around with her wing flat on the ground as if she is hurt. I love the red around her eye.
Happy father's day to all the dads out there!

Beck at the Beach

As I was walking along the beach Friday I came across Glenn Beck's Christmas Sweater book in the sand.  Looks like it's been there awhile. There was no money between the pages so I took it to a neer-by trash receptacle and disposed of it. That red cover did stand out against the sand.

The Shack

An inferred photo of an old roadside farm stand.
Actually, I think it was a duck farm way back when. The building is a bit too backlit, but I do love the dark sky and the white foliage.

Did you off the blogisphere?

I've been busy with the vegetable garden, radishes and Hakurei Turnips are plentiful and we also harvested some lettuce.
Hung The Men Who Work the Bay, a photo essay on baymen at the Babylon Public Library.
