Crape Myrtle
This is my first post since Blogger "changed their look." I'm still feeling my way around.
Cel and I visited a couple of yard/estate sales Saturday. We had an hour or so between dropping our son off at school and the start of his Lacrosse game.
We not really looking for anything, but we usually find something. Chairs and old ball jars have been the lastest things. More and more yard/estate sales are being run by companies that entice the buyers and separate the seller's emotional attachment from buyers looking to get a great price. The last sale we visited was run by such a company and that's where I found these Crape Myrtle trees. We didn't know what they were, so I made a few photos to refer to later when I would try to look them up. We were amazed at the offerings in this house it was way beyond our wallets. On the way out, one of the people from the company asked us if we saw anything we liked? So I asked about the trees and he told me what they were... for free! What a bargin!

You will love them... I have one in my yard... Did u know there are dwarf ones? I almost bought one but was told they do better NOT planted in a lawn area.. I do have one in my garden and the blooms and leaves are gorgeous.. Its deciduous so a few months out of the year u will have a stick but worth the wait. Great close up- reminds me of the back of a cane chair...
We have these trees near our house, but I didn't know what they were called either...as usual :) I didn't expect to learn so much about botany by keeping a photo blog!
I haven't seen one of these before.
Trying to get used to Blogger's new format, too.
the sales are not any good out here for some reason.
sounds like an bit of fun.
I hope you got out of there fast before they changed their mind. LOL.
