Sun rays through the clouds

What a weekend. I started by working in the garden yesterday, weeding and pruning. It was hot, humid and sunny. In the next yard, behind a row of cedar trees and a fence, were the neighbors enjoying their pool. The children were yelling as their dad played the part of an underwater monster swimming around and getting them. You could hear the two of them splashing him, trying to get away and hide behind their mother. Neighborhood noise, good neighborhood noise. I could have stayed in the garden all day.
Today, was the other end of  the age spectrum. We supported our local Elks lodge and went to a lobster fest. The food was great. I haven't has a lobster in a few years, which made it even better. The majority of the folks there were much older that us. I know many of the service organizations are losing membership. Younger people haven't the time or interest to join and older members are passing on.
I just wanted to be back in the yard listening to the sounds of youth.
Today's photo is an oldie but goodie. I made this on a walk along the ocean one evening this past October. The beaches aren't this empty, even at night, at this time of the year.

What a gorgeous photo, Steve! I love the rays of light breaking through the crowds and of course I am always a sucker for the coast. And lobster...yum.
