I think they are Downey Woodpeckers, but I'm not sure. I photographed them through the dirty glass window as they pecked at my insect infested yard. This is the first time I've had woodpeckers in the yard. Hope they come back!
Flickers, very nice! I always notice them as they are flying away from me. They have a little cottontail spot on their back sides that mocks my observation skills.

Flicker for sure.. more exotic (in my neck of the woods) than a Downy.
What ever the name, God got very creative with the feathers. i like.
I think they're going to take over...
