The Latch

I found this old abandoned farm building, yes I was trespassing again, and attached to the siding was this latch. The door was long gone as were parts of the roof and walls. There were boxes and boxes of old books and papers, water logged from the heavy rain that found its way in through the porous shelter.
Outside was this latch, standing guard, ready to work.
Made with the Canon G10, processed with Photomatix Tone Mapping program.

I like the texture of the peeling paint and the quietness of the latch ...

Beautiful. I need to wander around some abandoned areas some. Love this.

A trespasser, eh?! Glad you did! Such texture. I want to pick off a bit of peeling paint or run my fingers through that groove in the wood. Sometimes-- it's the little things!

hello mr doppelganger, i really like this photo. It speaks to me on a bunch of different levels, but the color is whats gets me. red is power, and shattered and locked red, well, I love it. Thanks for your wonderful comments about my drawings, I dont know how to get the award you speak of, but am flattered that you would submit me! If you are ever in California look me up, i'll do the same if I'm in your area.
