No surprises it snowed today, and snowed and snowed. And it's supposed to snow tomorrow. Shoveling wasn't too bad the snow was light and airy.
I'm not sure if it was the grayness of the day or all the white snow, but the Cardinals at the feeder looked incredibly red. More red that usual. Even the females looked more vivid that usual.
I tried to get a photograph of one and this was the best of the lot. He was in the front yard in a Cedar tree, I was inside.
I am posting a photo of Isabel running around in the snow. She doesn't look like she's hates snow here. She also hates her rain coat.
I used the Canon 20d and processed both with ACR.

I like the spots of red in your white world ...
I love cardinals--my mom had me watching them from the time I was a little girl! Great picture. And I am loving that pink rain coat! : )
I love the Cardinal picture. It's sad but in Southern Cal, you just don't see anything like that. I remember there being a lot of Blue Jays around when I was little but not anymore. So when I moved to the East Coast, I LOVED seeing Cardinals and all. Especially in the midst of a drab winter!
i needed to see this today. just now. cardinals are my "sign from God" bird... i seem to see one often when i am confused or searching or praying for direction. i prayed once that God would send me a cardinal to our deck as a sign that all would be okay. within minutes, a cardinal flew up to our deck. and we just did not have many cardinals visit us commonly, so i definitely took it as a sign and have ever since. thanks for posting the cardinal today.
i kinda miss seeing cardnals sometimes, so it is good to see one here.
It's nice to see a photo of Isabel.
You're right, that Cardinal does stand out. We don't get them over here.
