The Great Atlantic

Today's photo is of one of the man-made groins along the ocean beach in Southampton. The Army Core of Engineers also installed rock jetties to do the same thing; impede erosion.
They don't install them any longer. There's no stopping mother nature, she just moved further down the beach.
They still make for an interesting photograph when they are exposed.

Made with the Canon G10 and photoshop.

If you hadn't told me, I'd have been trying to figure out what animals were on the beach!
