Agawam Beach

Morning breaks at Agawam Beach, Southampton Friday.
This is the beach that appeared on my very first blog post. It's a great place to walk in the morning.

Big Sky

Here's another photo from Saturday's time at the ocean. I had some time work on this image in Photomatix Pro. They upgraded the program. This is a HDR photo from six images.

Sunrise over the Atlantic

Evan had to be at weigh-in at seven this morning for wrestling tournament. It was a perfect morning to stop and walk along the beach. It was a fruitful morning.

Dance Zone

I think that's what the sign says, dance zone. I made this photo at Agawam Beach in Southampton, there must be a lot going on there in the summer. There's hardly anyone there when I'm there, so I don't know when the dancing starts.
Today was the annual organizational meeting for the Suffolk County Legislature. All eighteen members, the County DA and Sheriff and the legislative clerks and council all get sworn in. So there's lots of photos, lots of work today. I'm a little silly at this point in the night. Silly and tired.

Black Sand

Today's photo came from a walk I took on the beach. I'm not sure I'd ever seen sand this color sand in Southampton. Maybe, it's the winter tide or how much of the beach has eroded these past few months.
Whatever the reason it looked beautiful and I had to make a couple of photographs.
My wife and I rented the movie My Sister's Keeper with Cameron Diaz last night. If you like tear jerkers, this gets five stars. It's about an eleven year old's quest to get medical emancipation from her parents who had her as a child donor to keep her lukemia-stricken older sister alive. It's a bit jumpy, I felt like I was paging through a family photo album from various parts of the album. Other than that it was a great tear jerker. The actors and actresses did great job in the movie, even Alec Baldwin.

Gin Lane, Southampton

Across Gin Lane form Agawam Beach is Agawam Lake. Most people know this lake from the village side. There’s a park and a large lawn where the Cultural Center holds concerts in the summer and the tree lighting for Christmas. I don’t know what this plant is but there’s a few of them at the south end of the lake. They make it look like a tropical island somewhere.

I processed this image with Canon Digital Photo Professional and Photomatix, Tone Mapping. It was made with the Canon G10.

Today we’re having the family and friends over for a barbeque to say goodbye to Adam and Brian. Tuesday we take Adam up to Norwich University in Vermont for his first semester in college. A week for today, Brian go back to start his third year at SUNY Potsdam. …my money…I don’t know where that’s going it’s just not staying with me!

Agawam Beach

Went over to the ocean this morning to see what the surf looked like. The tide was coming in and shrinking the beach big time. There were two four wheelers looking to ride on the beach, but what was there wasn’t wide enough to drive on.

I made this image at Agawam Beach off Gin Lane. I think that’s what it’s called. My very first blog post was also made there, but I called the post Carnival Beach because of the colorful bike rack.

This image was processed with Canon Digital Professional and Photomatix Tone Mapping software. It was made with the Canon G10.

Carnival Beach

CARNIVAL BEACH
Well, I have to start somewhere. This is my first blog. I am a professional photographer, which means that I earn most or all of my income from the taking and selling of photographs. I started making images in 1975, my last year of high school and except for a short period of time in the eighties haven't stopped.
This photo was made last month, October 26th along Gin Lane in Southampton, New York. I had some time to kill between dropping my middle son, Adam off at work and a portrait job. I was trying to find images that would work as HDR images. I don't think I was successful, but I liked the image anyway. I especially liked it when two guys walked into it and one was framed by the colorful bike rack.
