The Old Stomping Ground

I had an assignment today to cover someone I really don't care for. But, A job is a job. The best part was that I was in a neighborhood that I spent much of my time as a young adult. So, after the job I drove around the old stomping ground.
Today's photo was made in the parking lot of Vanderbilts Wharf. We knew it as The Wharf back then. It was the starting point and sometimes the finishing point for many a Friday and Saturday night.
I cant believe the sky in this photo, it looks surreal.
I used the Canon 5d mkII and processed it with ACR.

The blue of that sky is spectacular! It almost matches the blue in the rope...
That got me thinking about Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco where I spent a good deal of time in my growing up years.

Love the blues!! (I think I was a mermaid in another life-- I am so attracted to water. And I live in the land locked Midwest! argh!) Keep posting the beach, wharf, water pictures for this lady!

Wow.. such a vibrant blue. That's a wonderful shot. I love how the clouds and sky almost match the colours in the rope.
