Fun with red.

What a great day I had today. I covered a press conference on the east end of the north fork of Long Island, Cutchogue. I made a point of heading out early so I'd have some tome to do some personal photos. The weather was perfect and so was the colors. I felt like a sugar addict loose in candy store.

I've come to the conclusion that when we have a wet summer, fall colors are better. I'm gonna have to look this up to see if it is fact or something I'm imagining.

These two images came from Mattatuck, the sign was at the train station. The leaves were a few blocks away. Both were made with the Canon 5d and processed with ACR.

i've always heard that the less rain we have before fall, the less vibrant and long lasting the colors will be.

it's been spectacular around here! i'm sad to see it go. although, the two bright yellow maples that hover over my house are one of the last ones to go, so i am happy about that. fall is in full swing on my property! :)

love the sumac shot. it's one of my favorite things about this season. i've never been able to photograph it well, but i do love looking at it as i drive, as it is everywhere along the roads in my neck of the woods.

like the depth of focus on the first shot, too!
