The old fruit stand truck.

I have to thank God I'm so busy. I had some time today after a job to make some photos up in Calverton.
This old truck is on a farm and was used as a stand to sell fruits and vegetables. A few years a go I saw a young teen girl working the stand. Today. The farm is up for sale, the stand is vacant.
In this age of technology, its got to be difficult for a teen age girl to work a family farm stand. I'm assuming she was family.
I made a few photos I'll post over the next few days.
This was processed as a HDR image with Photomatix Pro.

I saw a 1951 pickup a couple of days ago that I wished I would have taken some photos of ... nostalgia ...

I like the symmetry of the composition.

Thanks for the compliment and best wishes you left for me on my blog! I love the old truck, but it's sad about the farm. This economy is making it hard on so many businesses.

I miss the old days. (And now I feel officially old- just saying that!) I get a glimpse of them every once in awhile--the kids up the street had a lemonade stand. I like the farm produce stands.

It's heartbreaking to know that these businesses are being destroyed. The whole concept of farming has changed so much over the past few decades.. and never for the better. I do love this rusty truck. Wonderful shot.

Wonderful photo!! And such a sad and poignant story of dreams being shattered. I always hate it when I see businesses close down. It breaks my heart.
Congrats on your POTW!

Great photo. Congratulations on the potw. There is a lot to be said for roadside farm stands, especially when tomatoes come into season.

That's an absolutely wonderful photograph, telling stories all by itself. Driving through pounding rainstorms, feeling safe and dry in that solid hunk of metal, it's barely given up yet.

I wish it could retire to write its memoirs, and tell us about life on the farm, and the passage of time. Instead, this photo will have to do the trick, and it does it well.

Congratulations on the post of the week mention over at Hilary's, this photograph will honestly stick with me. It's a very evocative image.

Your photos are spectacular. Congrats on POTW from Hilary.

And yes, I think the economy is filled with as many bumpy roads as that old truck once navigated.
